  • add to growing knowledge by contributing to the WikiEvaluation and uploading new documents and videos;
  • comment on existing articles, videos and webinars;
  • interact in real time through webinars and blogs;
  • be part of a professional M&E social community by creating their own social profile in LinkedIn
  • learn from selected practical handbooks, manuals an books accessible in the virtual library;
  • access technical advice through the practical “how to” guidance on how to plan, conduct and use M&E systems and evaluations;
  • search an inventory of training delivered by different institutions all over the world
  • post their CV (in the case of evaluators offering services) as well as their own vacancies (in the case of institutions looking for evaluators) in international evaluation rosters

  • Developing national capacities for country monitoring and evaluation systems

Dear Colleagues,

Within the international community, there is a growing recognition that national capacity development for monitoring and evaluation systems is an essential part of the broader support to policy reform and to promoting national ownership of evidence-based policy making.

With the aim of sharing good practices and lessons learned on this strategic issue, UNICEF and IOCE (International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation), in partnership with UNDP, WFP, UNIFEM, ILO, World Bank and IDEAS (International Development Evaluation Association) published the enclosed book (see link below). This publication offers a number of strong contributions from senior officers in institutions dealing with national monitoring and evaluation capacity development, as well as senior Government representatives responsible for the national monitoring and evaluation systems in countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

We encourage you to share this publication as appropriate, including with your partners at national and international conferences and meetings. Please do not hesitate to contact the book’s editor, Marco Segone, Evaluation Office, UNICEF, at [email protected] for any further information and/or additional copies.

Best regards

Marco Segone
